When we are young the skin color and tone is even and unblemished. Components such as collagen, elastin and glycosaminoglycans or GAGs are all abundant. Collagen keeps the skin firm, elastin provides the skin elasticity and rebound, and glycosaminoglycans keep the skin hydrated.
